Composite to be released in France + New Video

Monogrenade is very pleased to announce the release of their sophomore effort, Composite, on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean on September 1st, 2014 via French label Atmosphériques. Released in Canada in February via BonsoundComposite utilizes vintage synthesizers that coast through planetary atmospheres (Exclaim), and lyrically explores our human essence.

To add to this great news, premiered the video for Métropolis, directed by Christophe Collette, the man behind the much talked-about stop-motion video for Ce soir.

Monogrenade’s Composite now available!

Out of the celestials comes Composite, Monogrenade’s second project, is available now via Bonsound (digital / cd / vinyl). Purchase the album via the band’s bandcamp.

Pushing the electro aspect of their sound, the band makes good use of old synths and a Linn Drum. French horn player Pietro Amato (Arcade Fire, The Luyas, Bell Orchestre) adds an organic feel to many songs while Marie-Pierre Arthur’s vocals beautifully complement Jean-Michel’s on Labyrinthe. Composed by Monogrenade and string quartet Mommies on the Run (Patrick Watson, Karkwa, Ariane Moffatt), the string arrangements surround the eclectic pop style, creating a profound, coherent album.
